Information

Ned Botwood is a British creative director, director and photographer. His work is warm and nostalgic, characterised by a gentle atmosphere, honest conversation, sweeping landscapes and an evocative use of colour.

He broke out with ‘Happy Pride, from the Middle of Nowhere’, a low-budget documentary for British Vogue taking on the misconception that queer people don’t belong in rural places. He cast the film word-of-mouth, and traveled across the UK in a van, meeting seven people living on the rural fringes of the UK. The film was nominated at Ciclope and 1.4.

His follow-up, ‘First Acts’ for British Vogue and Tiffany, was nominated for a Craft Award at the British Arrows.

He also works alongside labels to develop a cohesive visual direction for emerging artists, and has helmed music campaigns for Junodream, Jasmine Jethwa and Talia Rae. And he has directed music videos for Henry Moodie, Metronomy and Katy J. Pearson.

Recently, Ned concepted, wrote and directed ‘125 Years of KOKO’, leading a campaign for the beloved London venue that celebrated a century of counterculture and nightlife through spoken-word testimony.
